Four Musicians Combine for One-Night Only Show

Matt Parker (top left), Corey Warning (top right), Tim Kayser (bottom left) and Tony Peck comprise new band, Lincoln-Douglas Street Fighter

This new band honors where they came from.

“We call ourselves ‘Linocln-Douglas Street Fighter’ as a sort of toast to growing up around the Quincy music scene,” Corey Warning, group lead singer, said.

Lincoln-Douglas Street Fighter will perform its one and only show Saturday, Dec. 10, at the State Room, 434 S. Eighth.

Warning, lead singer of The Graduate, recently moved back to Quincy and he’s been itching to play music since his previous group disbanded in August.

Tim Kayser, former frontman of Floating Otis, and Warning played together in Best of Winter, a popular area band from several years ago.  Tony Peck is from the band the Junior Varisty, and Warning said Peck set him on his way as a musician.

“The three of us got together and decided that we should add in another guitarist,” Warning said.  ”Matt Parker was an easy choice.  We’ve worked together, so we knew he’d be a great fit, not to mention a great guitarist.”

Parker is a former member of Predawn Hour and Salem’s Cradle.  He, Warning and Peck, toured nationally with their respective bands.

“After a few sessions, we all had a clear vision for what we wanted this band to be,” Warning said.

“We’ve reworked old songs of our own and added some covers that I think will surprise a lot of people.”

The member’s influences are Jimmy Eat World, the Pixies, Nada Surf, Pavement and their previous bands.

Warning said he doesn’t “want to give away too much.  You will have to make it down to the State Room Dec. 10 to see it for yourself.”
